Director of Philanthropy
For whom?
A role for profiles who want to help build a rigorous approach to philanthropy, develop trusted relationships, and advance substantive questions around giving and impact.
Mieux Donner is the leading independent platform that directs donations from individuals and organisations towards the most impactful charities, through rigorous impact expertise.
We are entering a new phase of growth and are recruiting to strengthen our team. Joining Mieux Donner today means taking part in an ambitious adventure: helping more people give with rigour, confidence, and real impact, within a small team where driven, autonomous, and exacting people take on genuine responsibility, contribute directly to the organisation's growth, and thrive in a flexible working environment.
We will be hiring two people to strengthen the team. As several needs have been identified, we are opening four different positions in order to find the most relevant profiles for this new phase of development.
Joining Mieux Donner today means:
Drawing on analyses from international evaluators, we identify the organisations best positioned to maximise impact. Supporting them can deliver 100 times more impact. These organisations are rare, and these principles remain little known in France. We want to change that.
Author Rutger Bregman defines moral ambition as the combination of two traits: the drive of entrepreneurship and the idealism of activism. Mieux Donner carries this vision in France, and joining us could be your best opportunity to make an enormous difference.

Even if you do not tick every box, we encourage you to apply if you recognise yourself in the team's spirit, in the ambition of the mission, and in one of the roles on offer.
Feel free to share this page or any of the job descriptions with people in your network. The best hires often come through targeted recommendations.
If someone comes to mind, they should hear about our openings. This is a rare opportunity for a stimulating, meaningful role within an ambitious organisation.
A bonus of €300 (or a €500 donation to a charity of your choice) is paid if we hire thanks to a referral:
The referral is valid provided that the person making the recommendation has contacted us via private message or email, naming a candidate who has agreed to be contacted.
You may also flag someone by tagging them on the dedicated LinkedIn posts from Romain Barbe.
The referral must be submitted before the candidate has already applied.
The organisation is headquartered in Paris, but the team is currently spread across France. You need to be in a time zone close to France, and an employer-of-record arrangement can be considered. Being a French resident is therefore not required.
It is a permanent contract (CDI) with a probationary period of up to four months, with executive status. The contract can be between 3 and 5 days per week.
We are fortunate to have many freelancers who want to support us voluntarily. What we are looking for right now are people ready to join the team fully as employees.
There is no specific experience requirement. We can hire talented recent graduates as well as people with 20 years of experience as a CEO. The Director of Philanthropy role does, however, require a certain level of professional maturity.
You should apply for the position where you feel you have the best chance of succeeding in the recruitment process. During the final interview, we will be able to assess your full range of qualities, and we may build a role that combines elements of several of the positions listed.

We want our recruitment process to be as open and fair as possible. We are aware that women and people from minority backgrounds are less likely to apply if they do not meet every criterion. Even if you have doubts, we strongly encourage you to apply.
We encourage everyone to reflect on their own giving, but we do not make hiring conditional on donations or any financial commitment.
